Less than a year to go and we're almost there...

Matt

It seems likes it's been a while since we provided an update but it feels like we’re almost at the point where we’re just about ready to get married now!

We’ve sourced a venue and paid the deposit. With the venue come the location for the ceremony and the celebration, along with the welcome drinks and the evening food. We’ve even added an extra treat for the afternoon and the evening but if you’re on the guest list you’ll soon find out what they are!

After several trips around Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Warwickshire, Rosie managed to find a dress and I’m booked in to get fitted for a suit – I think I’ve already chosen the suit so it’ll just be a case of making sure I’m happy then booking in early next year to get the groom’s party suited and booted in readiness for the big day!

There’s entertainment throughout the day and into the evening, and we’ve booked a photographer and videographer to capture all those special moments, throughout the day, as well as those not-so-special but much more funny moments!

Rosie’s chosen her hair and make-up, as have I (haircut a couple of weeks before, shave morning of, bosh, done) and we’ve even bought her wedding ring!

It wasn’t an ultimatum, but with my hayfever never giving prior warning to showing up, or how severe it’s going to be, I decided that Rosie could either have me at the wedding, or real flowers for her bouquet. I waited with baited breath but, thankfully, she’s opted for artificial flowers and so I can book my ticket to the main event! We’ve found a florist (are they still a florist if they deal in fake flowers??) that prepares amazing bouquets and buttonholes with artificial flowers so we’ve booked her. (Even managed to save a couple of quid by saying we’ll collect rather than have them delivered!)

This weekend we re-visited the venue to measure up the spaces and take more pictures and videos as we give thought to how to dress the venue on the day. We also visited a professional set-dresser who gave us some amazing ideas and a quote to take the job off our hands completely.

We’ve even booked our honeymoon, which is only missing some connecting flights and some days out, and you can read about that here.

So now, unless we’re very much mistaken, all that’s left to do is wait for time to pass and start paying stuff off (the very, very painful bit).
