Peppervine Tapas - A foodie review

Peppervine Tapas caught my eye the very second my infinite Facebook scrolling (thanks lockdown boredom) happened upon it. I'm a huge tapas fan and was thrilled to discover a new tapas place a mere 7 miles away from me, especially as the Spanish restaurants I had previously been a fan of, namely La Tasca on Granby Street and Barceloneta on Queens Road, had long ago closed their doors.

Providing a take-away service to abide with current lockdown regulations, Peppervine's menu offers around 20 different tapas dishes to order, complimented by a weekly specials menu which increases the offering and includes a tempting 'dessert of the week'. Available for collection or delivery, Thursday, Friday and Saturday between 4pm-9pm.

We opted for a Saturday night and text our order via WhatsApp a few days prior. Peppervine were quick to respond, confirming their availability for our requested delivery time and sending a link which enabled payment by card (you can also pay cash on delivery if you wish).

We ordered the advised 3 dishes each, plus we couldn't resist the urge for a sweet treat too! Here's the dishes we ordered:

Patatas Bravas

Truffle Mushroom Arancini

Aubergine Parmigiana

King Prawns

Albondigas

Chorizo & Roasted Peppers

Ferrero Rocher Cheesecake

The food arrived within 15 minutes of our requested delivery time, with a confirmation text from Peppervine that the driver was on his way. Served in small, recyclable, containers, the food was nicely presented and still hot as if straight from the kitchen.

We got stuck right in, and the food was delicious! Particular favourites being the Aubergine Parmigiana which had a fantastically cheesy sauce, and the King Prawns were chunky and tasty. The Chorizo had quite a kick to spice things up and the Patatas Bravas were served with the sauce separately so you could make them as spicy as you fancied. The portion size was spot on for us, full after the meal but with just enough space left to fully appreciate the Cheesecake!

As take-aways go, this was a definite hit and one we shall definitely be ordering from again. Excitingly, Peppervine have a restaurant based at Stanton Lakes in Stoney Stanton, Leicestershire. Although currently closed due to Government lockdown restrictions, they are hoping to open their outdoor, lakeside, restaurant seating area from 13th April 2021, with the indoor restaurant set to re-open as soon as regulations allow.

We will definitely be making plans for a lakeside al-fresco dinner in April, and hope our Spanish-style tapas meal is accompanied by some lovely Spanish-style sunshine!

NB:- Unfortunately we were so excited to try the lovely food from Peppervine Tapas, we completely failed to take any pictures! But trust us, it was great!

If you fancy giving them a try, you can check out their website: www.peppervine.co.uk
