As some respite from researching the less fun parts of the wedding and the ever escalating costs, we've turned our attentions to the the part we're really excited to research- the honeymoon!
An obvious choice is to recreate the South Africa trip that was supposed to be for our 40th birthdays, but maybe add on a trip to Mauritius as a little beach break at the end as well. (Adding that previously made the trip just a bit too expensive whereas now we can justify it!)
But that's not the only option on the table - we like the idea of the US but there are so many parts of the US we're just not sure where we would go to make the most of our time.
I'd love to do a little tour of the north-east, taking in New York, Philadelphia and Boston, but then we're both Disney fans so 10-14 days at Disney World wouldn't be wasted either!
Also Las Vegas. If we really wanted to visit a Disney park we can take in Vegas for a few days and then head west to Disney Land. And while we're out that way there's the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Death Valley and Yosemite National Park.
All probably finished off with a short week lounging on a beach somewhere in the Caribbean.
But Japan was on the shortlist for our 40th as well and we'd love to spend a few weeks out there, especially taking in the cherry blossom season. But given the time it would take to do Japan any sort of justice it would likely mean we probably wouldn't have time for a beach break to finish (likely in the Maldives or Seychelles or similar).
Lots to think about over the coming months (along with everything else!) so if you have any recommendations let us know!
