In our announcement post I said that it had opened a can of worms of questions and it really has! And each seems more expensive than the last to answer!
We're not made of money so we'll be working hard to stick to a budget but it's also our special day so there's no sense in scrimping and getting the cheapest of everything. It only happens once after all (it had better only happen once!).
First challenge is to understand what sort of wedding we want. We kind of want it to be small but what does that even mean? Some guests have to be there (us, folks, siblings) and there are other guests we really want (bridal party, groom's party, close friends and so on).
Once we'd drafted a guest list we were none-the-wiser as to what sort of venue we'd need but booking a venue has to be done pretty early on in the process to secure the date you want (which also still hasn't been confirmed). So now the hunt for a venue begins and we'll see what's affordable and how many people we can afford to feed and water and go from there.
Only a few days into the search and the only thing that has been confirmed is that venue hunting is exhausting! But we will persevere and let you know how we get on!
